Description
Minimal in ornament yet deeply expressive in form, this small ladle by Graham Brant pairs a hand-formed copper bowl with a slender handle cast from gathered sticks. The bowl’s softly faceted surface and organic, teardrop profile catch light differently from every angle, its warm copper tones shifting from burnished amber to deep umber.
The handle, cast in bronze from a found branch, retains the subtle irregularities of bark and growth nodes, a quiet record of the natural world translated into metal. The gentle arc of the stem gives the piece a sense of movement, as though it were still growing.
At 195mm in overall length with a compact 23mm by 25mm bowl, this is a small and intimate utensil suited to finishing salts, sauces, oils, or composed bites. Like much of Brant’s work, it occupies the space between sculpture and table tool, refined enough for display yet fully capable of use.
One of one.
