Description
From Virginia’s Monolith Knives, led by Zach Worrell and Nick Watson, comes an extraordinary offering for the dining room. The eight-piece Heirloom Damascus Steak Knife Set is a celebration of fine materials and refined craftsmanship, handcrafted from a luxurious combination of elements including Dense Twist Damasteel stainless damascus steel from Sweden, presentation-grade African wenge, and walnut sourced from the historic Monticello estate of Thomas Jefferson. Having grown up in Virginia in a family of artists, Zach, Monolith’s founder, recognized the rare opportunity to work with walnut from Jefferson’s farm, located just miles from his Charlottesville workshop. Each knife is a convergence of artistry and history, the materials chosen not only for beauty and performance but for the stories they carry. The knives rest within a stunning wenge presentation box lined with removable trays of Monticello walnut, each holding four blades, protected by a lid that swings on brass hinges made in NYC. Matching the box’s warm exterior, the sculpted handles of each knife are elegant, ergonomic, and secured to the full tang by a pair of polished nickel silver bolts. Flowing damascus patterns travel the length of the 126mm / 5” blades, culminating in razor-sharp edges that glide through every cut with ease. A marriage of heritage and modern craft, the Heirloom Damascus Steak Knife Set embodies Monolith’s vision—where timeless materials, meticulous design, and enduring function meet to create objects worthy of generations.
