Turned from sustainably sourced black walnut by Luke Hope and his team at LH Studio, this bowl is the kind of object that finds a permanent place on the table. The walnut’s grain sweeps in long, flowing bands around the form, shifting from warm amber to deep chocolate as the light moves across it, each bowl unique to the tree it came from. Walls taper to a fine, almost paper-thin rim, the silhouette low and wide with a confidence that works as well holding fruit or salt as it does sitting empty on a shelf.
At 5″ across and 2.7″ deep, it is the right size for one thing at a time, done well.
