Description
In the hands of Tobbe Lundström, a chef’s knife becomes a study in material, memory, and place. This 230mm piece is forged from Swedish-made Damasteel, its layered surface revealing soft, organic movement echoing the landscapes from which both maker and material originate.
The handle brings together Scandinavian birch and fossilized walrus tooth, a pairing that feels at once intentional and deeply human. Living grain meets ancient matter, reclaimed and recontextualized, each chosen not for excess but for meaning. Tobbe’s work has always been about balance—between old and new, refinement and restraint—and here that balance is felt rather than announced.
Completing the knife is a matching saya, secured with a pin of fossilized walrus tooth, a subtle gesture that speaks to continuity and care. Nothing here is ornamental without purpose; every element is considered, every material allowed to speak in its own voice.
This is a knife shaped as much by time and place as by hand—an object of quiet confidence, carrying the unmistakable mark of Tobbe Lundström’s singular vision.
