Description

A hard-working utility blade for the hard-working chef. Robust yet refined, Don Carlos Andrade strikes an impressive balance in crafting a knife tough enough for the campsite and versatile enough for the cutting board’s densest ingredients and the most delicate cuts alike.

Don’s pronounced, freehand convex bevel geometry gives the Japanese-made ATS 34 stainless steel the strength and rigidity demanded in the field, whether breaking down game or prepping kindling for the fire, while those symmetrical bevels slim steadily to a slim, razor-sharp edge. A gently curved profile promotes efficient slicing and carving, and the fine, pointed tip is shaped for precision detail work without sacrificing the mass and durability required for rugged use. A clipped spine and hand-sanded satin finish complete the blade’s purposeful, handsome design.

For comfort and control indoors or out, a rare piece of vintage, bleached linen micarta—produced decades ago in the United States by International Paper Co.—is sculpted with Don’s iconic carvings and contoured into an ergonomic, visually distinctive grip. Don’s trademark translucent green G10 inlays and a series of hand-peened and flush stainless steel pins secure the build with both structural integrity and unmistakable signature.

Built to travel, built to endure, and built to work, this Andrade is ready for real-world use, from open flame to cutting board, day after day.
