Description
Handsomely classic while unmistakably Nick Rossi, our newest offering from this extraordinarily talented Maine bladesmith is a kitchen workhorse meant to be reached for daily. Forged from 52100 high-carbon steel and finished with a silky, hand-sanded satin along its symmetrical bevels, Nick delivers a blade designed to do it all—from all-day vegetable chopping to table-side slicing and carving.
At 200mm / 7.8” long, the edge feels equally at home in kitchens large or small. A flat stretch near the heel ensures efficient cuts and clean food release, while the gentle sweep upward to a fine, pointed tip—paired with a touch of lateral flexibility through the forward half—lends itself to precise slices and detailed work of every kind. The blade spine’s full distal taper, combined with Nick’s intentional heat treatment and hardening process, is what allows for this breadth of performance on the cutting board.
As eye-catching as the all-business blade is functional, Nick begins the handle with a beautifully hand-forged integral bolster bearing his maker’s mark. With stepped, heirloom fit, a ring of special FatCarbon carbon fiber with red highlights takes the stage before passing the baton to a striking piece of dyed and stabilized beech wood, alive with natural grain and character throughout. A single domed, polished brass pin completes this one-of-a-kind build. Made at the hands of Mr. Rossi, destined for the hands of the discerning chef.
